Removing the barrier for children and adults to access oral health care, the St. David’s Dental Program continues to expand and spread healthy smiles.

Almost every day, a child in pain comes to one of St. David's mobile dental vans with a dental emergency.

That’s how Teresa, a 5-year old, came to us. We discovered that Teresa had moved to Austin from Central America and had never been to a dentist before. At first she was fearful of sitting in the dental chair. With reassuring words, our compassionate van staff was able to help Teresa overcome her fears. After her treatment, Teresa was pain-free and smiling again.

Dental disease is one of the the most prevalent chronic childhood diseases, but it’s entirely preventable. St. David's Dental Program is working to help decrease childhood dental disease in Central Texas.

We are... six dental clinics on wheels, St. David's mobile dental vans, that travel to schools and social service agencies in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties.

We offer... free dental services: preventive, restorative, and urgent care.
In 2008, we provided dental care to:

12,430 children in 27 Title I schools were screened

5,000 children received treatment

975 patients from local social service agencies, including 420      musicians through the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians
