1. Who is eligible to apply for a grant?
Nonprofit organizations that are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code and public schools, colleges and universities. back to top
2. Do you fund projects outside of Central Texas?
No, the Foundation funds projects that improve the health of the people in the Central Texas area (Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis and Williamson counties). Currently, the Foundation accepts requests from organizations in the 10-county area and is prioritizing programs in Travis, Williamson and Hays Counties. back to top
3. What organizations or programs are generally ineligible for funding?
Organizations and programs must be consistent with the Foundation's mission, goals and programs. The Foundation grants are not intended for: elimination of operating deficits, direct support of individuals, cost of individual healthcare, clinical trials of drugs or devices, for-profit organizations, programs that exclude participants on the basis of race or religion, loans, or support of political agendas or candidates. back to top
4. What is the average size and duration of grants?
Amounts awarded and time periods vary widely and depend on the scope of the project and type of grant. The Foundation's annual reports contain a complete list of grants awarded in given years. See also "Grants and Outcomes for Community Partners."back to top
6. Can my organization submit a proposal over the Internet?
Yes, all applications must be submitted online. You may send your organization's audited financial statements via postal mail to St. David's Community Health Foundation, Attn: Director of Public Health. back to top

8. What are the deadlines for submitting Letters of Inquiry and full proposals?

9. How will I know if the Foundation received my Letter of Inquiry or full proposal?

10. When and how will I know if my Letter of Inquiry or full proposal has been accepted or rejected?

12. Can you help us with writing the grant proposal?
Foundation staff is available to answer your strategic questions. The Foundation does not provide grant-writing services. 14. Should we wait to hear from the Foundation before applying to others?
No. Please submit applications to multiple sources of funding, as doing so may improve your chances of success. back to top
15. Should we include letters of support?
Please include letters of support only from collaborating agencies listed in the project's budget. back to top
16. Will Foundation staff or board members do a site visit as part of the evaluation process?
Site visits often occur as part of the Health Access grant process. Foundation staff will communicate with your organization about a possible site visit at that stage of the grant process. back to top
17. Does the Foundation share copies of successful proposals?
No. Foundation policy prohibits us from sharing proposals. back to top
18. My grant request was turned down. Can someone at the Foundation tell me why?
The Foundation looks for programs and projects that best meet its goals and priority areas. Due to the large number of proposals, the Foundation does not routinely provide feedback on proposals that are not selected for funding. back to top
19. If our application is declined, is our organization eligible to apply again?
Yes, you may apply in subsequent calendar years. back to top
