From the glamorous parties of Toast of the Town to the informational and engaging sessions of Health's Angels and the Harwood Summit, St. David's Community Health Foundation strives to bring the community together. Entertainment and Education work hand in hand to form these programs that help make this a better and healthier place for all Central Texans.

Now in its 25th year, Toast of the Town has long been an Austin tradition of fabulous parties, delicious food, and fine wines paired with a worthy cause. Toast of the Town takes place each spring at various venues around town, from private homes to the top of the Brown Building downtown. Each party has its own distinct theme, and guests participate by either buying individual tickets or sponsorships. Beginning in 2005, all proceeds raised by Toast of the Town have gone to benefit the W. Neal Kocurek/St. David's Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance for students in Central Texas school districts studying in the health-care professions. Health's Angels is a dynamic group of people with diverse backgrounds and talents who have come together to support the efforts of organizations assisting the elderly and caregivers for the elderly. We do this through a combined effort of grant dollars, public awareness campaigns, and volunteer hours. Click here for more information on Health's Angels.

Working with the United Way Capital Area and other community organizations, St. David's Community Health Foundation presented the first Harwood Summit in September 2007. As the platform for a community-wide launch for a long-term campaign to engage greater numbers of citizens in community efforts, the Summit brought together 500 public innovators, thought leaders, and potential volunteers from various segments of the Central Texas community to hear from nationally recognized thought leader Richard Harwood, founder of the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation. The second Harwood Summit for community engagement will be held in the fall of 2008. Click here for more information on the Harwood Summit.
